Catalina Island is THE destination for both those looking for just a day of get away relaxation and those making a snorkeling or hiking adventure of their stay.  Just 27 miles  from Long Beach it is a perfect single day getaway for dining, and a glass bottom boat ride. The One hour boat rides from the mainland leave and return almost hourly so a leave at 9am return at 4pm is totally feasible. Plenty of restaurants and water and ground activities and adventures can also keep you busy for two to three days at plenty of bay view hotel rooms.
